LA Creperie

Over the weekend, a friend and I went on a food excursion and stumbled upon this adorable little French crepe house in Wanchai. As we walked up the stairs and entered the the restaurant, we were greeted with a ship-inspired ambiance and a very handsome French waiter.

Mia the lovely
We decided we'd split the meal so we settled upon Le Marco Polo; complete with succulent Chicken masala, red and yellow peppers, jalapenos, rich cheese, and a lightly dressed salad tossed on top.

We then decided that one crepe just wasn't enough..so we more than satisfied our sweet tooth with a dessert crepe of caramelized bananas, caramel ice cream, caramel sauce, and of course the caramel infused crepe. Unfortunately for you all, the minute it was placed in front of us we dug in, hence no 'before' picture but only an 'after'.

Exhibit A shows that we enjoyed it very much...

Like always, please excuse the horrific quality and even more unflattering shadows but this was our 'garçon mignon' [AKA cute waiter for all the aspiring Frenchies out there] which was one of the many French sayings we learned that night.

My 1-10 rating (1 being inedible and 10 being a plate sent down from the Gods): 8.5
We loved the attentive service by the adorable waiters and their patience with teaching us a few fun phrases in French. The crepes themselves were very good in the sense that this is as close to real French cooking as I'm going to get in Wanchai (until I find another one to tell you all about)! Unfortunately, the restaurant is quite small and gets pretty crowded so make sure you have a reservation ahead of time. This place is perfect for people wanting to try something new, learn a bit of the oo-la-la French language, and have a semi-intimate evening with a date or a group of small friends.

If you'd like to scope it out, the address can be found below:
1/F Kui Chi Mansion, 100-102 Queen's Road East Wanchai
Telephone number: +852 2529 9280

In the name of everything delicious, bon appetite!
