Oh yeah, it's Mama's Day

Although I beg to differ that Mother's day is only one day a year and more like every day, Mother's Day is always a lovely way to enjoy (usually) great weather while smothering (see what I did there?) mum with hugs, kisses, and full on love via breakfast in bed, bouquets of flowers and all the activities she enjoys.

This Mother's Day, however, was spent in the company of my boyfriend's family at dim sum. It was such a lovely change from the Mother's Days in the past but still filled with giggles, stories, and love.

The one unfortunate thing about the day was the picture above. Unfortunately, it was the only picture we took (I really need to start remembering to take more pictures!) and it's not even representative of us. For one, my parents (the two on the far left) abandoned me and traded my side for that of Liam's and his mother's while Papa Sheridan and I hung out together on the right. Secondly, I look like I've been eating dim sum for several consecutive days causing me to feel and appear like a gordita (spanish for as fat as a little partridge). 

Oh well, can't have it all right? I'm just glad the mummys look good...after all, it was their day.

Music Junkie Monday

Besides elation and depression, no other emotion affects me as much as nostalgia.

Especially since I'm starting to close a big chapter of my life and begin writing a new one, nostalgia has been a frequent visitor. 

In celebration of old life / new life, here's my husband's, Brandon Flower, 'Only the Young'. Not to mention I was obsessed with him in The Killers let alone after he branched out and did his own thing - so I hope his voice coaxes your moments of nostalgia too. 

Music Junkie Monday

This weekend has been unreal.
In all honesty, it took me completely by surprise! I could have never imagined having so many wonderful moments with so many wonderful people.

So to celebrate living in bliss, here's "I'm God" by Clams Casino. It's always been tucked away in my music library and remains to be a favorite. Enjoy!

Music Junkie Monday

I openly broadcast that I am the 'music junkie' among my friends (which went from a joke to a nick name overnight!). And over the years have built up an extensive music library. So to make it do a bit of work back for me,
I'm going to post a song every Monday!
But before we get started, there's something you should know.... I love getting to know people, I really do, but the question I despise most in this process is 'what's your favorite song?' Even if I wanted to, I couldn't answer this! It's seriously as impossible as asking my pug, Chubby, if he likes eating over sleeping. No way one is better than the other - especially since they're so different!

"You seriously cannot expect me to answer that!"

So I figured that I'm just going to post music with high number of plays / current favorites / have some sort of meaning behind them.
Without further ado, I'm kickstarting this Monday with one of my most listened to songs - Hundred K by Left Boy.
I'm kind of an advocate for the Left Boy cause. I have all of his songs, know all of the lyrics, and follow basically all of his social networking profiles. Stalker? Nah, just a dedicated fan ;) (that's what I tell myself anyway!)

I know this song was made more of a joke than anything but I honestly couldn't help but get hooked on its hype. Hope this pumps you up too and gets rid of those Monday blues!
